The Auberge du Poids Public is situated at the entrance to the village of Saint-Félix Lauragais in Haute-Garonne, close to Revel (10 kilometres) and Castelnaudary (20 kilometres). More broadly, our inn is located between Toulouse and Carcassonne in south-west France. Our establishment is ideal for a holiday or business trip to Revel or Castelnaudary and offers an exceptional panoramic view of the Lauragais countryside.

The Auberge du Poids Public has a lovely shaded terrace, open only during the summer months (weather permitting), with a beautiful view over the Tarn plain.

L’Auberge du Poids Public is a must-visit spot for enjoying an authentic cassoulet with duck confit, which has regularly won culinary awards: the Grand Prix du Jury at the Toulouse World Cassoulet Championship in 2022 and the “Véritable Cassoulet de Toulouse” award from the Académie Lucien Vanel in 2022 and 2025.

We offer a range of options:

How much should you budget for a meal?

The price ranges from €30 to €89 per person, depending on the menu chosen (excluding drinks). You can also choose an 'à la Carte' dish. 

Is it possible to stay overnight?

Yes, we have 9 rooms, 1 suite and 1 private apartment, all modern and comfortable, some with views of the countryside to enhance your dining experience.

Is breakfast included?

Depending on the package you choose, breakfast – served as a buffet or in your room, as you prefer – may be included or available at an additional cost (€15 per adult and €10 per child under 12).

Can we book a gourmet weekend?

Yes, we offer one-night stay packages including dinner, accommodation and breakfast for two people.

We also offer half-board if you are staying for several nights at the Auberge (three-course dinner + breakfast = €45 per person per day).

Do the rooms have a view?

  • All our Standard rooms overlook the village of St Félix.
  • Some of our Comfort rooms offer exceptional views of the Lauragais region.
  • Our suite features a terrace with panoramic views of the countryside.
  • Finally, our private apartment has a bay window offering breathtaking views of the Lauragais countryside. 

Do you offer restaurant gift vouchers?

Yes, you can give a gift box for a gourmet meal (with a choice of menus to suit your budget) or a complete experience including a stay at the hotel. You can also give a cooking class with our Chef Philippe Jeansing or a wine-tasting session with our sommelier and maître d’hôtel, Jean Pierre PIALOUX. We also offer gift vouchers that the recipient can use as they wish within our establishment.

Are gift vouchers valid all year round?

Gift vouchers are valid for one year from the date of purchase (the exact date is stated on the voucher). They are valid all year round, subject to the recipient making a booking in advance, in accordance with our opening days, taking into account our annual closures and the course schedule for cookery and wine-tasting classes (available on the calendar on our website). You will be asked for the gift voucher reference number when making a booking.

Can a gift voucher be personalised?

Yes, with a personalised message for the recipient and immediate dispatch by email or post (postage charges apply). You can also choose to collect it in person from the Auberge if that suits you. 

How do I book a table?

You can book directly online via our website HERE or by telephone. A valid email address is required so that you can receive confirmation of your booking. You may be asked to present this confirmation when you arrive. 

PLEASE NOTE: A credit card pre-authorisation is required for all weekend table bookings (Friday evening – Saturday lunch and dinner – Sunday lunch) to prevent last-minute cancellations and no-shows. When booking on our website, please ensure you authorise this pre-authorisation with your credit card in good time (via your bank app). If the pre-authorisation is successful, you will receive an email confirming your table reservation. If this is not the case, please call us promptly to check.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we strongly recommend booking as our restaurant is often fully booked, particularly at weekends and on public holidays.

Can we book the restaurant for private use?

Yes, we have a private dining room (seating up to 50 guests) available for private or corporate events (birthdays, weddings, business meetings, etc.).

What are the cancellation terms for a restaurant booking?

We require a credit card pre-authorisation for all weekend and public holiday bookings, as well as for group bookings of our private room. Please do ring us if you wish to make any changes or cancellations. In the event of a very late cancellation (less than 2 hours in advance) or a no-show, we reserve the right to charge the credit card associated with your booking.

Even if your booking did not require a credit card pre-authorisation, we kindly ask you to still amend or cancel your table by telephone, email or via our website.   

Do you offer a takeaway service?

Yes, we offer our duck confit cassoulet as a takeaway, freshly prepared, subject to booking 48 hours in advance by phone or via our CLICK & COLLECT service (click HERE). The price is €15 per portion, plus a refundable deposit for the cassole dish.

We also offer festive takeaway dishes during the Christmas and New Year period (subject to booking).

Do you offer a catering service?

Yes, we offer catering services for your events. Quotes available on request.

Do you organise cooking classes?

Yes, we offer cooking workshops led by our Chef Philippe Jeansing. You can find the course schedule in the ‘Events’ section of our website. We also offer wine-tasting courses led by our sommelier and maître d’hôtel, Jean Pierre PIALOUX. 

Is there a car park?

We do not have secure parking, but there are plenty of free parking spaces on the street in front of our establishment. We also have two charging points for your electric car in front of the Auberge. 

For cycle tourists, we can store your bikes in a locked room. You can, of course, recharge your batteries in your room. 

Finally, our private apartment has a locked garage for one car, or two motorbikes, or five bikes. 

Is the restaurant accessible to people with reduced mobility?

The dining room is accessible to guests with reduced mobility, but unfortunately there are around ten steps leading to the guest toilets (there is no lift). 

Are pets allowed?

At the restaurant: yes, provided they behave. 

At the hotel: yes, a maximum of two pets per room, subject to a surcharge of € 6 per pet per night. 

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free Wi-Fi (fibre) is available.

Can we organise a group meal?

Yes, we welcome groups by reservation. 

Is this a suitable place for a romantic dinner?

Yes, our setting, our stunning views and the quality of our food and wine (if you’re a wine lover) make this the perfect spot for a romantic evening.

Do you organise business events?

Yes, we host business lunches and corporate events at our restaurant.

We also have a seminar room available for your meetings, training sessions or professional events, which can be booked for half a day, a full day or over several days, with overnight stays at our hotel included. 

Can we turn up without a booking?

This is still possible during the week, subject to availability, but is strongly discouraged.

What happens if there is a delay?
